Anmol Bishnoi, Extradition Process Begins To Bring Back Lawrence Bishnoi’s Brother From US

The Crime Branch of Mumbai police has started extradition proceedings to India to bring Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is accused of firing outside the residence of the Bollywood actor Salman Khan from the USA.
Police sources have said an MCOCA court special for Maharashtra has granted a non-bailable warrant for Anmol Bishnoi’s arrest. They said they are waiting for some papers in the court to complete the legal formalities, and they will send a formal proposal to the central government for the next step.

A Red Corner notice has also been issued for him for search outside India, the sources informed.

Earlier also, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch had lodged a complaint of an attempt to murder Anmol Bishnoi, who is the younger brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, a wanted gangster, in the firing case that occurred outside ‘Star’ ‘KHAN ‘residence, Salman Khan.
Sources say that a special court dealing with Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act(MCOCA) cases has issued a non-bailable warrant against Anmol Bishnoi. They said they are still waiting for some papers from the court to meet some formality and that a formal proposal will be made before the central government for further processing.

The sources also said that local police have issued a ‘Red Corner Notice’ for his arrest outside Indian territory.
His extradition was said to have been preceded by the US informing the crime branch of his existence there, all this having been done by the crime branch. Earlier, they believed he was in Canada.

Headquartered in Delhi, the NIA—the anti-terrorism investigation agency of India—included Anmol Bishnoi on its list of most wanted. A reward of ₹ 10 lakh was also declared for his arrest.
The Bishnoi gang, which rose to fame following Sidhu Moosewala’s murder in 2022, were back in the limelight after the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra house in April this year. As threats followed — in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi over the 1998 blackbuck hunting case — security was beefed up at his home.

The two main accused who were charged in the FIR are Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi, and a Canada-based gangster, Goldie Brar. According to the police, in a nine-minute speech to make the shooters brave, Anmol had said to them that they were going to ‘write history’.

The Bishnoi’s gang is also under scanner for the murder of politician Baba Siddique who was close to Salman Khan last month.

In 2022, the so-called Bishnoi brothers, among others, were arrested on charges of planning a ‘terror fund-raising module’ apparently targeting youth for ‘terrorist acts’ in Delhi and other states of India.
